David’s work has been read and developed at The Old Vic, The Royal Court, The Lark Play Development Center, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, The Management Company, and Paper Beats Rock. After it’s development through the US/UK Exchange Programme, his play 1800 ACRES was produced at Riverside Studios in London. His short plays DELETED SCENES FROM THE LOVE OF JOHN SMITH AND POCAHONTAS and BATTLE FOR BROOKLYN were commissioned and produced in New York by Lynn Thomson’s America-In-Play Group. Additional productions include David’s NO MAN’S LAND GREENLAND, produced at Infernal Bridegroom’s Axiom Theatre, SHATTERINGS, produced by Theatre Collide at The Houston Foundry and A STRING OF BREATH, produced at the EZ Credit Theater in downtown Houston.
For 2 years, David served as the Literary Associate at The Public Theater under Artistic Directors George C. Wolfe and Oskar Eustis. He has studied with writers Edward Albee, Nilo Cruz, Ntozake Shange David Eldridge, and Donna DiNovelli. From 2006 - 2007, David was the National Coordinator of Suzan-Lori Parks’ 365 Days / 365 Plays Festival. He has also spent time in rural Rwanda, where he helped to develop MUMUGU WATCHU– a play designed to stimulate discussion around AIDS prevention and sexual health. He currently works as the Development Associate at Tashtego Films. He is a graduate of Brown University, and originally from Houston, Texas.
